The Patna Museum, on Bailey Road is an ambitious project of the State Government that has the most precious sculptures and artefacts from the rich history of Bihar. For designing the museum, the State government initiated the process of conducting an international competition in 2012-13. The competition drew many renowned architects around the world. After the final screening, Maki and Associates, a Tokyo-based architecture firm and its Indian partner Opolis were declared winners.
The 13.5-acre campus of the museum being developed is based on the international concept of ‘museum and marketplace’. This museum is State Government’s effort to put Patna on the global map. It is said to be the best education centre in the state and is attracting children from across the country and tourists from across the world.
